Victims of abuse and neglect deserve love and support – we can all agree on that, right? But how do we put this into practice? We lack models for the kind of habits and practices that create an environment of loving protection. What does it look and feel like to actively create the conditions that help to heal and prevent further trauma? Nikki Silvestri,, Founder and CEO of Soil and Shadow, gives us one great example from her own childhood growing up with foster siblings.
Presenting at Healthy Gen’s Science of Hope conference, Nikki further asks, “How do we protect people who have been hurt so that you stay safe and that they stay loved? Boundaries protect us – so that all people can be loved and held.”
